Becarefulwhenturningandavoidunsafe
maneuvers.
Alwaysensurethatthemachineisconnected
tothetowvehiclebeforeloading.
Donotputlargeorheavyobjectsintothe
hopper.Thiscoulddamagethebeltand
rollers.Alsoensurethattheloadhasauniform
texture.Smallrocksinthesandcanbecome
projectiles.
Donotstandbehindthemachinewhenunloading
orspreading.Thetwinspinner,crossconveyor,
andprocessorcanejectparticlesanddustata
highspeed.
Unloadthemachineordisconnectitfromthetow
vehiclewhileonalevelsurface.
Donottravelwiththemachineinthefullyraised
position.Thisincreasestheriskoftippingover
themachine.
Themachinehasasaferangefortravelingwith
attachmentsasshownbythegreensectioninthe
decal.
Donottravelwiththemachineinthecautionrange
(yellow/black).Whentherearenoattachments
onthemachine,travelwiththemachineinthe
loweredposition.
Shutofftheattachmentwhenapproaching
people,vehicles,vehiclecrossings,orpedestrian
crossings.
Donotoperatethemachinewiththeweightcase
removedoroutofposition.
Useextremecautionwhentravelingonhills,
especiallywhenturning.
Travelingacrosssteephillswiththemachine
fullyloadedcouldresultinatip-over,oraloss
oftractionforthemachineortowvehicle.
Reducetheweightoftheloadwhentraveling
onsteephillsandavoidpilingtheloadhigh.
SlopeSafety
Reviewthetowvehiclespecicationstoensure
thatyoudonotexceeditsslopecapabilities.
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontrol
androlloveraccidents,whichcanresultinsevere
injuryordeath.Theoperatorisresponsiblefor
safeslopeoperation.Operatingthemachineon
anysloperequiresextracaution.
Theoperatormustevaluatethesiteconditions
todetermineiftheslopeissafeformachine
operationincludingsurveyingthesite.Always
usecommonsenseandgoodjudgmentwhen
performingthissurvey.
Theoperatormustreviewtheslopeinstructions
listedbelowforoperatingthemachineonslopes
andreviewtheconditionsinwhichthemachineis
beingoperatedtodeterminewhetherthemachine
canbeoperatedintheconditionsonthatdayand
atthatsite.Changesintheterraincanresultina
changeinslopeoperationforthemachine.
Avoidstarting,stoppingorturningthemachineon
slopes.Avoidmakingsuddenchangesinspeedor
direction.Maketurnsslowlyandgradually.
Donotoperateamachineunderanyconditions
wheretraction,steering,orstabilityisinquestion.
Removeormarkobstructionssuchasditches,
holes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenhazards.
Tallgrasscanhideobstructions.Uneventerrain
couldoverturnthemachine.
Beawarethatoperatingthemachineonwet
grass,acrossslopes,ordownhillmaycausethe
machinetolosetraction.Lossoftractiontothe
drivewheelsmayresultinslidingandalossof
brakingandsteering.
Useextremecautionwhenoperatingthemachine
neardropoffs,ditches,embankments,water
hazards,orotherhazards.Themachinecould
suddenlyrolloverifawheelgoesovertheedge
ortheedgecavesin.Establishasafetyarea
betweenthemachineandanyhazard.
OperatingtheMachine
1.Fillthemachinehopperwiththematerialtobe
spread.
2.Ensureoptionisinstalled(TwinSpinner).
3.Adjustthegateheighttothepreferredsetting.
4.Adjustbothowcontrolvalvestothepreferred
setting.Setthebeltandoptionspeeds
tothepreferredsetting(typically,thebelt
speedshouldbe:Wireless—100%,Standard
Hydraulics—#10).
5.Parkthetowvehicle3m(10ft)infrontofthe
arearequiredfortopdressing.
6.Ensurethattheon/offpendantswitchesare
bothoff.Onwirelessmodels,ensurethatthe
handheldremotefunctionsarestopped.
7.Engagethehydraulics(eitheronthetowvehicle
orontheauxiliaryhydraulicpowerpack).
8.Increaserpmofthetowvehicle.Turntheoption
on,usingtheon/offpendantorthehandheld
remoteonwirelessmodels.
9.Driveforwardtotheareathatrequirestop
dressing,raisingtherpmofthetowvehicleto
theoptimaloperatingrange.
10.Whenthemachineoptionisdirectlyoverthe
beginningofthetopdressingarea,usethe
on/offpendantorthecontrolpendantonwireless
modelstoturnontheconveyerbelt.
