12 HX7+ ASD Installation and Operation Manual
EMC Directive
The CE mark must be placed on every final product that includes an ASD and a motor. The HX7+ ASD
complies with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC (the Toshiba-recommended EMC filter must be correctly
wired and connected to the ASD for compliance).
The EMC standards are broadly divided into two categories; emissions- and immunity-related
standards. Each category is further categorized according to the operating environment of each
individual machine. Because ASDs are intended for use with industrial systems under industrial
environments, they fall within the EMC categories listed in
Table 1 on page 11. The tests required for
machines and systems as final products are the same as those required for ASDs.
Low-Voltage Directive
The Low-Voltage Directive provides for the safety of machines and systems. All Toshiba International
Corporation ASDs are CE-marked in accordance with the European standard EN 50178 specified by the
2006/95/EC Low-Voltage Directive on Electrical Safety. All Toshiba International Corporation ASDs
can be installed in machines or systems and imported to European countries.
The HX7+ ASD also complies with the low-voltage standard EN 61800-5-1:2007. Compliance includes
providing the Tool Equivalency Table below. The table lists the Imperial/Metric hardware size
compatibility references. The table assists in choosing the correct tool when performing maintenance on
the ASD.
