Installing the optical disk drive/SD board
To install the optical disk drive/SD board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-23 to
4-26.
NOTE: When installing a new optical disk drive, set the ODD bezel to the optical disk
drive while securing the latches.
1. Set the ODD FPC, ODD rear plate, ODD side plate and ODD side plate F to the
optical disk drive and secure them with the following screws.
• M2×4C S-THIN HEAD ×2
• M2×3B S-THIN HEAD ×3
2. Connect the SD board FPC and ODD FPC to the connectors CN9710 and CN1820
on the SD board.
NOTE: When replacing a SD board with a new one, set the MIC cover to the SD board
in place.
CAUTION: When replacing the SD board FPC with a new one, use the SD board FPC
on which printed “AL-S” is printed. Do not use the parts for PORTÉGÉ R700.
