Wireless Range Extender (AP Repeater)
Wireless range extender or repeater mode allows the device to extend the range of an existing wireless network. The existing wireless signal can be broadcasted from your wireless
router or other access point. In addition, other network enabled devices can connect to your network using the Ethernet LAN port. The functionality of this mode is similar to WDS with
Access Point however, wireless range extender mode does not require the other wireless device to support repeater or WDS and can only function using one band at a time, 2.4GHz or
5GHz and other modes cannot be used simultaneously. The TEW-815DAP offers two types of repeater modes, Concurrent Dual Band and High Performance Single Band. In Concurrent
Dual Band mode the TEW-815DAP can repeat both wireless 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands. This mode is ideal to use with an existing wireless dual band network allowing the TEW-
815DAP to repeat both wireless 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. High Performance Single Band connects to your existing wireless network with either 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless and
broadcasts on the other wireless band. This mode allows the TEW-815DAP to utilize each wireless band isolating each wireless band to specifically connect to your network and transmit
to wireless clients. This mode can also be used to introduce a new wireless network to your existing network. For instance, if you only have a wireless 2.4GHz network. You can configure
the TEW-815DAP in High Performance Single Band repeater mode, connect the TEW-815DAP to your existing wireless 2.4GHz network and the TEW-815DAP will transmit in the 5GHz
band, allowing you to utilize any 5GHz clients. The diagram illustrates an example of the device repeating the signal of an existing access point. Wireless client devices can connect to
which ever signal is stronger.
