It may also be caused by the gap/black mark sensor sensitivity not set properly, so calibrate the gap/black mark sensor. Ensure that the label size is set correctly to match the installed paper using the labeling software or program. Finally, check for and remove any labels stuck inside the printer mechanism near the sensor area.
