1.4 GLOSSARY OF TERMINOLOGY
The following abbreviations and terminology are used in this manual:
AAR Analogue Addressable Responder
AC Alternating Current
ACZ Ancillary Control Zone
ADR Advanced Detector Responder unit
ADU Addressable Device Unit
"ALM" Display abbreviation for ALARM
ARR Advanced Relay (and Detector) Responder (ADR + RRM)
AS Ancillary Supervision
AVF Alarm Verification, or check alarm.
AZC Alarm Zone Circuit, commonly referred to as "Detection Zone"
AZF Alarm Zone Facility, commonly referred to as "GROUP"
CIE Control and Indicating Equipment
DC Direct Current
DIRTY ALERT Signalled when Detector contamination becomes excessive
EEPROM Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory
EOL End Of Line device
EPROM (U.V.) Erasable PROM
F Flashing LED indicator
FFCIF Fire Fighter's Control & Indication Facilities, AS4050 (INT)

FIP Fire Indicator Panel
