15.Makesurethepilotchuteiscenteredoverthe
loop,thencompressitstraightdownandlockit
withthetemporarypin
16.Pullallthepilotchutefabricout,awayfrom
thespring.
Afterpullingthefabricawayfromthe
spring,checktomakesurethepilotchutebaseis
centeredunderthecrownthenaccordionfoldthe
materialacrossthetop.
17.Threadthepull‐upcordthroughthereserve
bottomflap(Flap#3).Closeandsecureitwiththe
temporarypin.
18.Threadthepull‐upcordthroughtheright‐side
flap(Flap#4),thentheleftsideflap(Flap#5)in
thatorder.Closeandsecurewiththetemporary
pineachtime.Ensurethepilotchutefoldsstay
flatandneat.
NOTE
Fullycompressthespringtoseehowmuch
loopcan bepulled throughthe topofthe
pilotchute.Ifyoucanpullmorethan½to
¾inches(1.3cm–1.9cm)through,thenit
istoolong.Thiswouldbethebesttimeto
openthecontainer
andshortentheloop.
NOTE
DRAW BOTH SIDE FLAPS, #4 AND #5,
TOGETHERATTHESAMETIME.
This prevents the bulk of the pack job
from pushing to the side that isn’t
closed, which then makes it more
difficulttoclosethatside.
By closing both side flaps at the same
time,thepack
jobisevenlycompressed
