4.6.1 Device identification value
The Device Identification value (ID) is set by three hexadecimal rotary switches. That means the
supported address range is 0-0xFFF in hexadecimal or 0-4095 in decimal.
There is no other possibility to set the Device Identification value (e.g. by the VAT Software Tool CPA).

The Device Identification value is read once after power on. Therefore a power cycle of
the valve controller or a firmware reset «EtherCAT object – Index 5E8Ah» > RESET
NODE» is necessary after the Device Identification value was changed.

Example: 0

The Device Identification value “0” is invalid, represents the out of the box value and indicates that the
device has yet to be configured. If in use, set the Device Identification value always to values unequal “0”.

4.6.2 EtherCAT configuration
“TwinCAT” from “Beckhoff Automation AG” is used for EtherCAT typical configurations. It’s also possible
with other EtherCAT master Tools.

It’s not the goal of this manual to describe the configuration of all parameters.
Operation via EtherCAT is sophisticated and requires specific knowledge and training
about it and its tools.

1. Data type of pressure and position values (optional)

The «data type of pressure and position» can be configured by ‘Control View’, ‘Control Performance
Analyzer’ or ‘Universal Hyper Terminal’.

The «set-command» is: «s:23xxy00000». The xxy value is the data type of a pressure and position
signal.

y: 0 = signed integer(32 bit), 1 = floating point (32 bit, IEEE-754 standard), default = 0
xx: signal number in the buffer

00 Pressure
02 Pressure sensor 2 (optional, only in case of 2 sensor version)
