8.7 Aileron Component Assembly
Remove the glass burrs from the mounting holes for mounting the aileron actuating
arm (or drill with a 3/16 bit – do not damage the thread of the locknuts). Install the aileron
control arm.
In the hinge areas, cut a recess about 1/16 for the hinge cradle. Align the aileron
with the trailing edge of the wing in the final position and drill the holes and install the
hinges. We suggest using flat head recessed screws and parlock nuts. Using wing-side
anchor nuts and aileron-side parlock nuts.
Drill 1/8 inch diameter drain/vent holes through the outer ribs to ensure ventilation
with changing altitude (changing pressure) and to drain any trapped fluid.
