5.12 - Vertical and horizontal stabilizers

As seen in the figure above, position the internal plywood reinforcements. Align
them vertically, sand them if necessary for a good fit in place, and mark their respective
positions. prepare one FLOX paste and pass over the edges of the reinforcement to be
glued. Position this and laminate it with a BID tape in 4 layers in 2 inches wide (overlap
surfaces 1 inch to each side) on each edge where the reinforcement joins the previous
structure. Allow to cure and trim any overhanging edges.
5.12 Vertical and horizontal stabilizers
The surface of the aircraft’s horizontal stabilizer is located above the horizontal
fuselage junction line. This means that the side pieces will be used to mount the stabilizer
above this level. These pieces are a portion of the molds for the tail on the respective
sides. For this assembly, it will be necessary to assemble the horizontal empennage
(Section 4 ).
5.12.1 Installation of the right rear fuselage
Align the lower fuselage. Temporarily mount the upper part of the fuselage with
the help of the holes drilled along the joint edge with the lower fuselage. Temporarily
also mount the fuselage tail halves
