Transport on public roads
Safety
Read the safety instructions carefully before driving on public
road
Before driving on public road, you must read the safety instructions
carefully.
This will ensure that dangerous situations and accidents are avoided.
Lack of information can cause accidents.
General
• Comply with the local law concerning lights, warning and safety
units.
• The driver and/or the owner of the machine has the responsibility
of complying with the Road Act.
• The tractor's manoeuvrability should not be adversely affected.
The tractor's steering shaft should bear at least 20% of the tractor’s
net weight.
• The tractor's braking distance should not be reduced. At least 50%
of the vehicle's total weight must rest on the braked wheel.
• Carrying passengers on the machine is strictly prohibited.
Before travelling
on public roads
• All of the hydraulic functions of the machine should be placed in
neutral and in locked position.
• The tractor hydraulics should be disconnected.
• Make sure there are no children or unauthorised persons in the
machine's hazard area.
• Check the surrounding area before starting the machine.
Checking the
machine
Before travelling on the road the machine should be checked
according to this check list:
• Is the machine in the transport position?
• Are all hydraulic functions in neutral?
• Are the tractor's hydraulics disconnected?
• Are the machine attachment points secured by a pin?
• Does the lighting kit of the machine work correctly?
Travelling on
public roads
• Check the area around the machine before you start. Make sure
there are no children or unauthorised persons in the machine's
hazard area.
• Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed.
• Adjust the speed according to the road conditions.
• Avoid sudden sideways movement with the machine.
• Make sure that steering and braking ability is sufficient.
