4000 Series GSM Audio Intercom with Proximity
OPERATION WHEN CONNECTED TO THE GSM INTERCOM VIA RS485
When the Art.4903 codelock is connected to the GSM intercom via the RS485 terminals it can operate with additional access control
features (refer to the notes and Fig.13 on page 19, to the notes and Fig.38 on page 29, and also the programming features in the
programming section of this manual).
CORRECT CODE ENTERED ACCESS GRANTED  RS485 CONNECTION
1. Enter the access code for the respective relay followed by the ENTER
button.
2. The green data LED on the Art.4903 and the red busy LED on the GSM will ash one after the other.
3. The green data LED will then ash once and the appropriate relay (RLY1 or RLY2 depending on setup) will activate and keypad
will emit a series of 1 second interval beeps for the duration of the programmed relay time.
4. If the internal speechboard is switched ON then the GSM will announce “the gate is open or “the door is open”.
INCORRECT CODE ENTERED ACCESS DENIED  RS485 CONNECTION
1. If an incorrect code is entered the green data LED on the Art.4903 and the red busy LED on the GSM will ash one after the other.
2. Both the LEDs on the keypad will switch ON. The green data LED will then switch OFF, followed by the red status LED and the
codelock will play a melody. No relay will activate.
3. If the internal speechboard is switched ON then the GSM will announce invalid code”.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If an Art.4903 keypad is connected via RS485 to the GSM module and setup as device ID.1 only then will
the speech annunciation come through the GSM’s speaker i.e. “the gate is open etc. (provided that the speechboard is also
switched ON) when an access code is entered on the keypad.
