2.27 ADJUSTMENT OF UNIVERSAL SECUREGRIP
FIGURE 2.47 UNIVERSAL SECUREGRIP
The setting of the gripperfingers should be so that these fingers will give a good support to the
PCB, but do not touch any component at the PCB, nor should they touch any part of the
machine, like supporting pins at the MultiWave plate.
The setting of the ‘positioning pins’ in the gripper should be adjusted so that the PCB will be cen-
tered at these pins before the fingers are closing. In the closed position these pins should still give
a perfect fit to the PCB. The position of these ‘positioning pins’ should than be accurately mea-
sured and stored.
If a universal gripper is used for different board sizes, one has to be aware of the fact that the
position of the ‘positioning pins’ in the gripper, related to the gripper position in the gripperhead,
should be checked. This position must after resetting of the gripper exactly be the same as it was
before for the same type of PCB. Only in that case the process positions on the PCB will still cor-
respond to the recipe.
If these ‘positioning pin’ positions are not accurately set, there will be an offset in relation to the
points teached in the recipe, this may result in mall functioning of the process.
