6.2 Overview of control
modes
Control modes are primarily used for the safe control of sun shading prod-
ucts, but also to enhance comfort.
We therefore differentiate between safety control modes and comfort control
modes. To ensure maximum safety for your sun shading product, the safety
control modes such as wind and precipitation should not be changed by the
user since the preset limit values are specific to the respective product (e.g.
an awning is retracted earlier in wind or rain than an external venetian blind).
For this reason, only the comfort control modes are described below. In
these control modes, you can set values that meet your personal needs (e.g.
to extend the sun shading product in strong sunlight). It is even possible to
define these settings for certain times of day or night.
There are various settings in different menu items for this purpose.
The word "control mode" will be used repeatedly in the menus described in
the following chapters, which is why we will first provide a small overview of
the effects of the function of each of these control modes.
Example Sun control
When the "SUN" limit value is exceeded, the sun shading products are low-
ered. When the "CLOUD" limit value is undercut, the sun shading products
are raised.
If the "SUN" limit value is adjusted via WMS WebControl (or via the WMS
Hand-held transmitter), the "CLOUD" limit value will always change automati-
cally as well (60% of the "SUN" limit value).
Example Dawn/dusk control
When you use the WMS WebControl or a WMS Central transmitter as the
system clock, the dawn function is always switched on at the factory.
The dusk setting can still be set as required via the slider (Settings menu,
Control modes). When the "Dusk" limit value is undercut, the sun shading
products are lowered.
If you wish the time to vary in the morning, a parameterization via a WMS
Central transmitter or via the WMS studio software is recommended.
