3.1.9 3.1.8. SNMP
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a network protocol developed by the IETF to monitor and
control network elements (e.g. routers, servers, switches, printers, computers, etc.) from a central station. The
protocolregulatesthecommunication betweenthemonitoreddevicesandthemonitoring station. SNMP describes
the structure of the data packets that can be sent and the communication flow. It was designed in such a way that
every network‑compatible device can be included in the monitoring.
3.1.8.1. SNMP Configuration
SNMP versions v1, v2c and v3 are supported.
SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 use the community name for authentication with read‑only and read‑write rights. The IP
address under which the SNMP service is available can be selected under Listen IP address.
