3. To return the outboard motor to the nor-
mal running position, press the power
trim and tilt switch and slowly tilt the out-
board motor down.

De-activating the engine speed control
system

This procedure must be done out of the
shallow water. Otherwise, the outboard
motor may hits an object in the water as
tilting down.
1. Close the throttle so that the engine
slows to idle speed.
2. After the engine is at idle speed in gear
move the control lever firmly and crisply
into the neutral position.
3. Press the power trim and tilt switch and
tilt the outboard motor fully down.
