6. Check the main switch.
a. Turn the main switch to “ON” from
“OFF” then to “START.” The starting
motor will turn, then the engine will start.
b. Turn the main switch to “OFF” from
“ON.” The running engine will stop.
7. Check the engine stop switch.
a. Run the engine.
b. Pull the lanyard off the lock plate. The
running engine will stop.
8. Check for steady engine speed.
a. Run the engine at idle.
b. Steer the tiller handle.
c. Tilt the tiller handle up/down.
d. Make sure the engine speed remains
steady under the above conditions.
Steering Friction (63D-42508-00-00)
1. Remove the cap 1.
2. Install the nut 2.
T orque: N ut - 2 0N m ( 2 .0m-kg, 14 ft-lb.)
3. Install the collar 1, friction plate 2, washer
3, and bolt (M8) 4.
4. Install the bolt (M6) 1.
