Cylinder Head Cover
1.
Remove
two
rocker shaft covers.
2. Insert a 6 mm screw into the rocker
shaft, and
withdraw
the rocker shaft. It
should slide
out
easily.
NOTE:

If the rocker shaft does
not
slide
out
easily,
use
the slide hammer (special tool PIN.
YU-
01083).

3. Rocker arm and rocker shaft
a.
The rocker arm usually wears at
two
locations: (1) at the rocker shaft hole; (2)
at
the cam lobe contacting surface.
b. Measure the rocker shaft hole in the
rocker arm.

c. The shaft has been hardened, and it
should not wear excessively.
If a groove
has developed in this surface that can
be
felt or
if
it
shows a blue discoloration,
then the shaft should
be
replaced and
the lubrication system (pump and
passages) checked.

B.
Cylinder Head
1.
Mount
the valve spring compressor on
th~
head and depress each valve spring.
Remove the valve retainers with a
magnet or tweezers, and remove the
valve springs.
