Safety Precautions
This instrument is an IEC safety class I instrument (provided with terminal for protective
earth grounding).
The following general safety precautions must be observed during all phases of
operation. If the instrument is used in a manner not specified in this manual, the
protection provided by the instrument may be impaired. Yokogawa Electric Corporation
assumes no liability for the customer’s failure to comply with these requirements.
For your safety, the following symbols and signal words are used on this instrument.
“Handle with care.” (To avoid injury, death of personnel or damage to the
instrument, the operator must refer to the explanation in the user’s manual or
service manual.)
Protective earth terminal. To ensure safe operation, if the current to be measured
exceeds 7 A (rms value), use a cable or conductor that is capable of running a
current higher than the current to be measured, and be sure to connect the
protective earth before operating the instrument. The protective earth terminal is
provided on the rear panel of products shipped in January 2004 and later.
