FTP
Embedded within the print server is an FTP server application that processes file transfers
from a host computer to the printer.
If the printer is on a network, label formats can be generated and data can be transferred
without setting up a print queue.
To send information to the printer, perform these steps:
1. Open a command prompt and type:
ftp <IP of PS>
This opens a session with the FTP server.
2. Type your user name and press Enter.
3. Type:
put < filename>
where filename is the location and filename of your ZPL script
This transfers the file to the printer, and the printer generates a label.
4. To terminate the FTP session, type:
quit
Example • If the IP address of your print server device is 12.3.4.123, you would
type:
ftp 12.3.4.123
Note • By default, there is no user name.
