CHAPTER 4: MANAGING DEVICE SECURITY
41
Network administrators can define users, passwords, and access levels
for users using the System Access Interface. The Multi-Session web fea-
ture is enabled on device and allows 10 users to be created and access
the switch concurrently. Access levels provide read or read/write permis-
sions to users for configuring the switch. Login information is managed
in the local database. A unique password is required from each user.
Two access levels exist on the 3Com Web Interface:
Management access level — Provides the user with read/write
access. There is always one management level user configured for
the switch. The factory default is user name: admin with no
Password.
Monitor access level — Provides the user with read-only system
access.
