Operation with External Antennas
External antennas can be connected to the test radio units for measuring purposes.
They can be activated and deactivated with a test phone. The current state is dis-
played on the test radio unit (see Tab. 3). After switching on a test radio unit, the in-
ternal antennas are always active (see also "Toggling Internal/External Antennas",
page 63).
Tip
A special completion test kit is available for measuring with external
antennas; it contains the following items:
– Test radio unit SB-8TEST with HEX rotary switch
– 2 test phones Office 135pro with test software
– 1 lead-acid battery 12 V
– 1 charging units for lead-acid battery 12 V
– 1 cables for supplying power to the test radio units from lead-acid bat-
tery
– 1 plug-in power supply unit for supplying power to the test radio unit
from a 230 V network
– 2 plug-in power supply units for charging the test phones directly
– 2 headsets for connecting to the test phones
– 2 round bar antennas (7 dB antenna gain)
– 1 planar antenna (8 dB antenna gain)
– 1 planar antenna (14.5 dB antenna gain)
– Technical information on the antennas, with tips on how to use them
and for other special situations.
