Using the batteries
Please observe the following instructions and rules while using the batteries:
General instructions on the use of batteries
• Never manipulate or disassemble your batteries.
• Never immerse the battery in water or throw it into fire.
• Do not expose the battery to high temperatures.
• Charge the batteries only with the original plug-in power supply units and charging bays
(supplied).
• Switch off the handset before removing the battery.
If you wish to put the handset into operation
• Use only the battery pack provided by the manufacturer.
• Charge the battery only with the plug-in power supply unit provided by the manufacturer.
Otherwise, the battery may be damaged.
• The battery is fully charged only after the second or third charging cycle.
• It is normal for the battery to get a bit warm while being charged.
• Observe the additional instructions in Section "Cordless Phones Battery Pack", page 48.
When putting the radio unit into operation
• Use only the 12 V lead-acid battery provided by the manufacturer.
• Charge the battery only with the charging unit provided by the manufacturer. For charging,
the charging device switch must be set to the 12 V position. Otherwise, the battery may be
damaged.
• Be absolutely sure to observe the "THIS SIDE UP" notice on the lead-acid battery. During
recharging, ensure that the battery is positioned so that the indicated side is up. This is for
safety reasons, since otherwise there is the danger that the battery leaks out.
• The battery is fully charged only after the second or third charging cycle.
• It is normal for the battery to get a bit warm while being charged.
• Observe the additional instructions in Section "Lead-acid Batteries", page 49.
If you wish to store the handset or battery
• Switch off the phone and remove the battery pack if you do not wish to use the phone for a
long time.
• Store the battery at room temperature. Above-average high temperatures tend to reduce
the battery's service life.
If you must dispose of batteries
Do not throw away the batteries with your domestic waste. Take the batteries to a battery dis-
posal centre for recycling.
