6.3 Analog Extensions
6.3.1 ELU34
ELU34 is a 32 individuals analog extension line unit intended for normal analog
telephones, with functionality for both message waiting and call metering. A
parallel telephone, an extra bell or a FAX can be connected to an ELU34
Note: The first extension on a free ELU34 board should be initiated on an
individual position less than 16. The subsequent extensions can be
initiated on any free positions on the board.
When extensions are removed it is important to first remove extensions
on individual positions higher than 16, if such exist.
If done in the wrong order individuals will be blocked.
Note: An external primary protection circuit shall be used as an additional
protection when outdoor lines from other buildings are connected to
the board. This protection circuit should have an striking voltage of at
least 280 VDC.
