Table 14: PM group: G.826
PM parameter Description
Near End BBE Near end count of Background Block Errors.
An errored block (EB, block with one or more bit
errors) occurring as part of an errored second (ES),
but not as part of a severely errored second (SES)
or unavailable time (UAT).
Near End ES Near end count of Errored Seconds.
A second with one or more errored blocks but with
less than 30% of the blocks errored and not part of
unavailable time (UAT).
Near End SES Near end count of Severely Errored Seconds.
A second with more than 30% of the blocks errored
or with a defect signal (e.g. LOS, loss of signal) and
not part of unavailable time (UAT).
Near End UAT Near end count of Unavailable Time.
Unavailable time starts with 10 consecutive SES
(included in UAT) and ends with 10 consecutive ES
or error free seconds (not included in UAT).
Far End BBE Far end count of Background Block Errors.
Far End ES Far end count of Errored Seconds.
Far End SES Far end count of Severely Errored Seconds.
Far End UAT Far end count of Unavailable Time.
Path UAT Path UAT is the UAT of the near end or the far end.
Table 15: PM group: P12 Events
PM parameter Description
Line Code Violations Near end bipolar violations (HDB3 line code errors).
Positive Slips Near end positive frame slips.
The counter for positive frame slips is incremented
when the clock of the NE runs faster than the clock
provided via the ITU-T G.704 framed 2 Mbit/s traffic
signal.
Negative Slips Near end negative frame slips.
The counter for negative frame slips is incremented
when the clock of the NE runs slower than the clock
provided via the ITU-T G.704 framed 2 Mbit/s traffic
signal.
