4 Installation
This section presents the prerequisites for the installation of the LEDE1 unit
in sections "Prerequisites" (page 15) and "Slots for the LEDE1 unit"
(page 15).
Section "Compatibility" (page 15) gives information about the compatibility
with other FOX61x units while section "Connections and cables" (page 16)
handles any external connections and cables.
4.1 Prerequisites
Before installing a LEDE1 unit take care to follow the safety advice as listed
in refer to "1KHW002459 FOX61x Release Notes".
Valid combinations of hardware (HW) and embedded software (ESW) ver-
sions are given in 1KHW002459 FOX61x Release Notes.
For the installation of FOX61x HW, rrefer to "1KHW002461 FOX615 Installa-
tion" and refer to "1KHW002462 FOX612 Installation".
4.2 Slots for the LEDE1 unit
The LEDE1 unit uses one slot in the FOX61x subrack.
In a FOX615, the LEDE1 unit can be operated in any of the following slots:
1 … 10, 12 … 21.
In a FOX612, the LEDE1 unit can be operated in any of the following slots:
7 … 10, 12 … 14.
Slot 11 is reserved for the CESM1 unit.
In maximum 16 LEDE1 units with all E1 ports enabled can be operated in
FOX615. This configuration occupies the full PBUS capacity.

please refer to "1KHW002467 FOX61x TDM Services".
4.3 Compatibility
4.3.1 FOX61x units
LEDE1 is compatible with any other TDM unit accessing the PBUS.
Other FOX61x units not accessing the PBUS can be deployed together with
the LEDE1 unit without any restriction.
