14.5 Application
Parallel redundancy protocol status (PRPSTATUS) is used to supervise and assure
redundant Ethernet communication over two channels. This will secure data transfer even
though one communication channel might not be available for some reason.
PRPSTATUS provides redundant communication over the station bus running IEC
61850-8-1 protocol. The redundant communication uses port L1_A and L1_B on the
COM3 module.
