4.6 Emergency kit
It is recommended that you take a small amount of supplies with you in
case of an emergency. This allows you to exchange components when
needed. Such an emergency kit may contain:
• A new Accu-Chek infusion set
• A new AA Alkaline battery
• A new 3.15 ml plastic cartridge
• A pen or syringe for alternate therapy
• A vial of insulin
• Treatment for low blood glucose levels
• Blood glucose monitoring supplies
(such as an Accu-Chek blood glucose monitor)
• A disinfectant for skin
• A new site dressing
• The battery key
The above list is only an example of what this emergency kit should
contain. Ask your doctor or healthcare team how to compose your
personal emergency kit.
