5.3.1.1.2 – Data File Format and Content
Each data log file is composed of two main data sections – configuration data and measurement data. Each section has
headers to identify the parameter followed by the data values. Figure 89 shows an example of a data log file identifying
section headers and data.
The Configuration header information reflects the current unit configurations. Configurable features of the analyzer
include, but not limited to, data options, custom logs, laser life, system alarms, relays, scheduling, HART, gain and offset
values. The configuration data stored is unique to each analyzer. In the event of a hard drive failure a replacement can
be re-configured quickly from this data, provided the data logs are regularly backed up. Also any changes to the
measurement readings as a result of changes to the systems configuration can be identified from this information.
