13 PCI Communication User Manual
Chapter 2 Hardware Configuration
2.3 Jumper Settings
This section details the possible jumper configurations for your card.
2.3.1 How to Set Jumpers
Configure the card to match the needs of your application by setting the jumpers. A
jumper is the simplest type of electric switch. It consists of two metal pins and a small
metal clip (typically protected by a plastic cover) that slides over the pins to connect
them. To “close” a jumper, connect the pins with the clip. To “open” a jumper, remove
the clip. You may find a pair of needle-nose pliers useful for setting the jumpers.
If you have any doubts about the best hardware configuration for your application,
contact your local distributor or sales representative before making any changes.
