Error: “Non-system disk or disk error”:
Eject the disk from the diskette drive and then press ENTER.
The hard drive is not recognized.
Check that the IDE or SATA controllers are properly enabled in the BIOS setup
utility. To access the BIOS setup utility, restart your computer and press and
hold the Delete or F2 key (key may vary).
Shut down your computer, unplug your power cord and modem cable (if
applicable). Open the case.
Check that the IDE or SATA cable is securely connected to the proper
motherboard connector and to the hard drive.
Internet
Connection cannot be made to the Internet with a modem:
Check that the phone cable is connected properly to the back of the computer
and to the telephone wall outlet. Check the wall outlet to ensure that there is
a dial tone.
Make sure to disable the call-waiting feature on your telephone line, if applicable.
Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure that the account is set up
properly.
Make sure that there are no problems with the modem.
Cannot browse the Internet / Error: “Unable to locate host”:
Check that you are connected to the Internet.
Check that the web address typed into the address bar is correct and for a
valid site. Try a different web address, or URL.
If the error message still appears, disconnect from the ISP and close the
browser. Reconnect and open the browser.
If the error message still appears, your ISP may be experiencing technical
difficulties.
