Installing the Plywood Base
A plywood base is recommended when installing the switch on a wall that
has wooden studs, with the standard brackets. Consult a qualified building
contractor for installation instructions for the base. The installation
guidelines are listed here:
The recommendations dimensions of the base are provided in
“Plywood Base for a Wall with Wooden Studs” on page 61.
Use a stud finder to identify the middle of studs and hot electrical
wiring in the wall.
Attach the base to two wall studs with a minimum of four screws.
The selected wall location for the base should adhere to the
recommendations in “Choosing a Site for the Switch” on page 46
and “Recommended Minimum Reserved Wall Area” on page 59.
