Analyzer Conguration Operations
This section discusses conguring the analyzer with Modbus. The 3050 Ana-
lyzer is shipped ready to communicate via Modbus using the serial commu-
nications port. While the 3050 Analyzer can be completely congured using
the Modbus connection, AMETEK recommends the use of the 3050 Analyzer
Congurator Software for conguring the analyzer. The 3050 Analyzer Con-
gurator Software is compatible with Modbus RTU as well. Switching protocols
can be accomplished with the 3050 Analyzer Congurator Software or with the
AMETEK “ProtocolSwitch utility, which is discussed in the next section.
Conguration Examples
All of the conguration parameters of the analyzer can be modied by the
“write one or multiple holding registers command. In most cases it is a one
step operation involving setting the contents of the corresponding register.
Ten dierent examples of using this command are presented below. The rst
example is presented with all “request” and “response formatting information.
For brevity, the remaining examples list just the key register information.
Example 1: Alarm Enable

Example 2: Setting the High Alarm Limit

concentration alarm, when the moisture
concentration exceeds 1000 PPM.
