8.2.7 Fasteners
ATTENTION
Fasteners can be damaged by over-tightening!
Overtightening fasteners can overload them, damage the thread, leading to loss of locking force and breakage of fasteners.
 Do not exceed the tightening torque of the fastener.
 If necessary, use a suitable torque wrench.
J Check all fasteners on the Pedelec regularly.
y Tighten any fasteners that are loose or have play. Pay attention to the tightening torques according to the table.
y If necessary, visit a bicycle workshop to have the cause of loosening fasteners checked out.
8.2.8 Rechargeable battery
ATTENTION
Damage to the battery is caused by a permanently low charge level when not in use for a long time.
The battery cells may be damaged.
 Check the state of charge regularly and charge the battery if necessary.
Check battery
J Check the state of charge of the battery regularly at least every 4 weeks.
Charging the battery
J Charge the battery when the state of charge is too low.
Check charging port
J Check the charging port, especially the contact pins.
J Check if the charging port cover is securely attached.
J In case of dirt or corroded contacts: Clean the charging port. Do not use metal brushes or similar.
Cleaning the charging port
J If necessary, clean the charging port by applying soap water and using e.g. an old toothbrush.
