The TubeSpec Electronics Control Box
The Argus TubeSpec control box consists of multiple boards that power, acquire data, and interpret signals
from the 12 ultrasonic transducer (UT) sensors and two proximity probes/sensors in the measuring head.
The DSP internally processes each of the [12 UT- and two proximity-probe] readings 80 times per second.
It applies a complex set of algorithms to the data, translates the data to engineering units as wall thickness
and diameter, and passes Min, Max, and Average data (once per second) to a PC via a serial stream (using
a serial port).
On the PC, OrionNET software provides data storage and an interface with which the user may view real-
time data in graphic format.
