b. Remove each packer by carefully sliding the tip of a small, flat-blade screwdriver between the
orange energizer and the opaque, cream-colored packer opposite the end where the metal capture
tabs are located, and pry/lever out the packer.
c. Clean the ultrasonic-probe sensor faces and orange energizer with a paper towel and apply a liberal
coat of ultrasonic coupling gel to the sensor faces.
d. Immediately after placing the ultrasonic gel on the sensor faces, return the parts to the measuring
head in the reverse order from that in which they were removed.
Avoid bending the metal retaining tabs that prevent the packer(s) from falling out of the unit. Bent retaining
tabs can cause misalignment during closing of the unit.
e. Close the measuring head having a calibration rod for the desired size in the center, and tighten the
four lugnuts on the sensor ring. The halves should align themselves as the lugnuts are tightened.
Use caution: do not force parts that are misaligned.
