Recommended Hardware
The following hardware conguraon is recommended. Computers not meeng this
conguraon can sll work with the X5001, but may not be able to make maximum
use of X5001 throughput.
• CPU: P4, 3GHz or faster.
• RAM: 1GB or greater.
• Harddrive: 7200 RPM or faster.
• Ethernet: Gig-E (1000BaseT).
Windows
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. A supported Ethernet or
wireless LAN connecon must be available.
macOS
System 7.5 to Mac OS 9.2 (Open Transport recommended) or Mac OS X. A supported
Ethernet or wireless LAN connecon must be available.
Linux/Unix
Hardware drivers, TCP/IP, and DHCP must be enabled in the kernel. A supported
Ethernet or wireless LAN connecon must be available.
Acquiring high-speed Internet service
The gateway requires a high-speed Internet access account. If you already have
an account, give your service provider the serial number and MAC address of the
gateway to use the high-speed Internet feature that this device oers. You can nd
this informaon on the label on the side of the gateway.
If you do not have a high-speed Internet access account, your Internet Service
Provider (ISP) will set up your account. Internet access allows you to send and receive
e-mail, access the World Wide Web, and use other Internet services. To set up an
Internet account, give your service provider the following informaon, which you can
nd on the label axed to the gateway:
• The gateway’s 12-digit serial number.
• The gateway’s 12-character Media Access Control (MAC) address.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) This device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
