2.5. FALL HAZARDS
• It is recommended that all persons on the work platform wear a safety
harness with a lanyard attached to a lanyard anchorage point
provided on the work platform. Attach only one harness per lanyard
anchorage point.
• Prior to operation, ensure that all guardrails are correctly installed and locked. Check that
access gates close and lock properly.
• Keep both feet firmly positioned on the platform deck at all times. Never sit or climb on the
guardrails. Never position a ladder or other objects on the platform to provide additional
reach.
• When elevated, never attempt to exit the platform using the lift structure.
• Do not attempt to exit or access the aerial work platform until it is in stowed position and the
outriggers have been retracted.
• Keep all mud, grease and other slippery substances from footwear, steps and platform deck.
• Always face the machine when entering or leaving the aerial work platform. Always maintain
a 3-point contact with the machine, using two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand at
all times.
