This section provides the operator the information needed to perform the verification and routine
maintenance operations on the machine. The following information is not a substitute for the
machine's preventive maintenance and inspection program.
7.1. SAFETY PROPS
Most of the maintenance or servicing operations
can be performed with the work platform in stowed
position.
If maintenance must be performed on the machine
while the platform is elevated, the TWO SAFETY
PROPS MUST BE SET UP (located on each side
of the lift structure) to support the structure.
Placement of the safety props
1- Remove all equipment that may be on the platform and retract the deck extensions.
2- Use the ground control station to raise the platform enough to pivot the props into place.
3- Raise the platform again until the props are vertical and can rest on the pins. The props
must remain in their guides.
4- Lower the platform and set the structure onto the props. Check that the props are correctly
positioned on the support pins.
5- Set the control station selector switch to the O position and remove the key.
Support prop storage
1- From the ground control station, raise the platform high enough to disengage the props
from the support pins.
2- Pivot the props to returned them to their supports.
3- Return the platform to the stowed position.
