Section 3. PREPARATION AND INSPECTION
Prior to use, it is recommended that a careful inspection and operational check-out be
performed to ensure that the machine is in perfect working order.
Do not operate the machine if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
Depending on national or local regulations, the machine must undergo periodic testing and
inspections.
3.1 PRE-START INSPECTION
1- Check for oil or fuel leaks. Check the overall cleanliness of the machine (slippery substances
on steps or on the platform deck).
2- Inspect the structure of the machine to detect any damaged parts, cracked welds or any
other anomaly.
3- Check that the safety decals are in place and legible. Clean or replace all illegible decals.
4- Check that a copy of the operator and safety manual is in the document box on the work
platform.
5- Perform the walk-around inspection described below.
6- Perform the operational checks described below.
3.2 WALK-AROUND INSPECTION
Check each item in the order presented in the list below. For each item, in addition to the criteria
mentioned, check that no parts are loose or missing, that the elements are correctly fastened
and that there is no sign of leakage or visible damage.
1- Engine - Hydraulic pumps.
2- Electrical wiring - Routing and tightness of battery cables.
3- Engine tray locking.
4- Outrigger cylinder covers - Outrigger pads.
5- Oscillating axle - Oscillating axle cylinders.
6- Steering cylinder - Steering bar.
7- Front wheel motors - Wheel pivot pins: No missing screws - Screws correctly tightened.
