The F-FEM-DAC is part of a family of Front End Modules that operate
together on a network. An interface up to 400 MBaud IEEE1394 is
used to connect them for data transmission. The other members of this
group are:
As the FEM-P has a RS485 interface, it is an exception within this
group. It is operated as a submodule of an F-FEM-AIN. The
F-FEM-DIO is connected to other types of F-FEMs via a serial inter-
face.
Several F-FEM modules can be connected to a measurement system
via the IEEE1394 interface. 62 IEEE1394 nodes can be addressed in
such an F-FEM network. However, there are the following restrictions:
The total sampling rate is limited by the interface to the host system
(e.g. PUMA Open with 64 k samples). All other F-FEMs in the network
which require node addresses as well as communication bandwidth
(e.g.F-FEM-DAC, F-FEM-CON or F-FEM-AIF) have to be figured into
the calculation as well.
F-FEM-CNT for counter input
F-FEM-AIF for analog measurement
F-FEM-AIS for analog measurement with electrical isolation
F-FEM-AIN for analog measurement without electrical isolation
F-FEM-CON for controller
F-FEM-DIO for digital I/O
FEM-P for pressure measurement
