Security
Users
User access control is enabled by default and can be congured under System Options > Security > Users. An administrator can
set up other users by giving them user names and passwords. It is also possible to allow anonymous viewer login, which means
that anybody may access the Live View page.
The use r list displays a uthorize d users and u se r groups (access l evels):
Viewer - Access to the Live View page
Operator - Access to the Live V iew page and to all settings except System Options
Administrator - Unrestricted access to all settings; can add, modify and remove other users.
Under HTTP/RTSPPasswordSettings, select the type of password to allow. You may need to allow unencrypted passwords if there
are viewing clients that d o not support encryption, or if you upgraded the rmware and existing clients support encryption but need
to log in again and be conguredtousethisfunctionality.
Under User Settings, select the Enable anonymous viewer login option to allow anonymous users access to the Live View page.
Deselect the Enable Basic Setup option to hide the Basic S etup menu. Basic Setup pr ovides quick access to setting s that should be
made before using the Axis product.
ONVIF
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interfa ce Forum) is a global interfa ce standard that makes it e as ier for end u s er s, integrators, consultants,
and manufactur ers to take advantage o f the poss ibiliti es offered by network video technology. ONVIF enables interop er abli ty between
different vendor products, increased exibility, reduced cos
t and future -pro of systems.

IP Address Filter
IP address ltering is enabled on the System Options > Security > IP Address Filter page. Once enabled, the listed IP address are
allowed or denied access to th
e Axis product. Select Allow or Deny from the list and click Apply to enable IP address ltering.
The administrator can a
dd up to 256 IP addres s entrie s to the list (a single entry can contain mu ltiple IP a ddre ss es).
HTTPS
The Axis product supports encrypted browsing using HTTPS. This is con gured on the System Options > Security > HTTPS page.
A self-sig ned certicate can be used until a Certicate Authority-issued certicate has been obtained. Click Create self-signed
certicate to install a self-signed certicate. Although self-signed certicates are free and offer some protection, true security is only
impl
emented after the installation of a signed certica te issued by a Certicate Authority.
To obtain a signed certicate from an issuing Certicate Authority, click Create Certicate Request. When the signed certicate
is returned, click Install s igned certicate to import the certi cate. The prop erties of any certicate request currently resident in
the pro duct or installed can be viewed by clicking Properties.
To enable HTTPS in the Axis product, the HTTPS Connection Policy must be set for each user group.
