Set the bobbin in the bobbin case so that
the thread unwinds to the left.

Lightly hold down the bobbin with your
right hand, and then guide the end of the
thread around the tab of the needle plate
with your left hand.

While lightly holding down the bobbin with
your right hand, guide the thread through
the slit in the needle plate and lightly pull it
with your left hand.

While lightly holding down the bobbin with
your right hand, continue guiding the
thread through the slit with your left hand.
Then, cut the thread with the cutter.

The cutter cuts the thread.

Insert the tab in the lower-left corner of the
bobbin cover (1), and then lightly press
down on the right side to close the cover
(2).

Touch to unlock all keys and buttons.
• Be sure to hold down the bobbin with your
finger and unwind the bobbin thread correctly.
Otherwise, the thread may break or the thread
tension will be incorrect.
• By pulling the thread as shown in step g, the
thread will enter the tension spring of the
bobbin case. The spring will apply the
appropriate tension to the bobbin thread
during embroidery.

• You can begin embroidering without pulling
up the bobbin thread. If you wish to pull up
the bobbin thread before starting to
embroider, hold onto the upper thread tail,
press the “Needle Position” button twice, then
pull up the bobbin thread tail. Position both
threads under the embroidery foot, pull out 10
cm (4 inches) of both threads, hold threads to
the side, begin embroidering, pause, trim
threads if desired, then continue
embroidering.
