Device no t found
When no DHCP server is present in the local network and the device is not configuredtoStaticIPad-
dressing:
• The device will fall back to a link-local address, e.g. 169.254.x.x
• Any other connected device in that network segment will also have a link-local address.
• As such, communication with the device is still possible.
• To be able to discover the device in such scenario, see "Discovery", page 23. Use any of the methods
described there to discover the link-local IP address of the device.
4.5.2.2 Managed mode
Introduction
The Managed Mode is enabled by default, and is required for operating the device in a larger system.
("Control modes", page 7 , for an overview of the operational modes.)
Enabling this by default allows a system user to configure all devices from a central point in the system
without first having to go to each box individually to enable managed mode, hereby defeating the concept
of having a system.
Refer to the applicable Barco Management System Installation Guide to operate the device in this mode.
Select Managed Mode (slidethebullettotheright) to enable the device to be managed by the system.
Automatically discover server
• By default, this is switched on (bullet to the right) and the device will automatically attempt to discover
the management server:
- If a management server is found, the device’s configuration is synchronized with the management
server and the device can be controlled by the management server.
- If no management server is found, the device will fall back to unmanaged mode.
• In case you want to define the server yourself, switch off (slide the bullet to the left), fill in the Server
IP address, and press Apply.
Use self regi stration
• By default, this is switched on (bullet to the right), and the device will automatically register itself with
the management server.
• In case you want to register the device manually, switch off (slide the bullet to the left), define a User
name and Password for registration, and press Apply.
Manually setting the management server and the registration credentials, can be re-
quired to adhere to security policies.
