BE1-11m Configuration
Motor Setup
The motor configuration settings are used in thermal capacity (49TC) calculations. Values for these
settings can usually be found on the motor data sheet. If the service factor is unknown, keep the default
value of 1.
Start/Stop Contacts
The Motor Status logic element provides the operating status of the motor. It identifies the motor as
starting, running, or stopped. The status indicators are enable or disable elements as desired based on
the operation of the motor. The Motor Start Detection and Motor Stop Detection settings control how the
BE1-11m identifies when a motor is started, stopped, or running.
Motor Start Detection
Current Only
Normal Start - The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped condition the
current on any phase increases to greater than two times FLA.
Soft Start - The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped condition the
current on any phase is below two times FLA, but above 5% FLA for 300ms.
Current and Contacts
Normal Start - The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped condition the
current on any phase increases to greater than two times FLA and the Motor is Started logic input
of the Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Soft Start - The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is starting when from a stopped condition the
current on any phase is below two times FLA, but above 5% FLA for 300 ms, and the Motor is
Started logic input of the Motor Status logic block becomes true.
Contacts Only
The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is running when the Motor is Started logic input of the Motor Status
logic block becomes true. The motor is deemed running because current is not considered and the
transition from the starting to running states cannot be detected.
Motor Stop Detection
Current Only
The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the current on all three phases drops below 2% of
full load amps for 100 ms.
Current and Contacts
The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the current on all three phases drops below 2% of
full load amps for 100 ms and the Motor is Stopped logic input of the Motor Status logic block becomes
true.
Contacts Only
The BE1-11m recognizes the motor is stopped when the Motor is Stopped logic input of the Motor Status
logic block becomes true.
Settings
Motor configuration settings are configured on the Motor Configuration settings screen (Figure 53-1) in
BESTCOMSPlus.
