Operating time specified for overhaul of any given part number in this schedule applies to all successive
dash numbers, unless otherwise specified.
An interim inspection is necessary at 3000 hours for a new tail rotor gearbox and 3000 hours after each
overhaul (BHT-430-CR&O-3).
Replacement of bearing 222-344-606-101 with bearing 222-344-606-103 upgrades hanger assemblies
222-044-003-109 and -111 to hanger assemblies 222-044-003-113 and -115, respectively. Refer to
Ta b le 5 - 3 for configuration of tail rotor driveshaft hanger bearing assemblies.
Hanger bearings have a 3-year shelf life. In addition, the Royco 13 grease per MIL-G-25013 also has a
3-year shelf life/expiration date. Expiration date is determined by adding 3 years to the manufacturing
date marked on the grease container.
A tag must be attached to any uninstalled hanger assembly (or a bearing). The tag must specify the
hanger bearing part number, serial number, and bearing grease expiration date. The expiration date is
written in two digit form (e.g., 02/97 - month/year).
The following statement should also appear on the tag: Bearing or hanger bearing assembly must be
put into service within the grease 3-year shelf life/expiration date, otherwise the bearing is
unserviceable and must be scrapped.
New bearings 222-344-606-103 will have the grease pack date marked on the face of the bearing outer
ring and the seal faces.
