NOZZLE BOOT WITH LEVER 4.0 ASSEMBLY (P/N 125270)
The nozzle boot uses a lever (lift-to-start), handle switch assembly to identify what product the customer wants to dispense, and signals
the Lower I/O board to turn on the proper pump motor. The handle switch is located on the back of the Nozzle Boot near the bottom as
shown in the figure below. If the dispenser has two nozzle boots on one side, the electronics and cabling will be the same. The handle
switch uses a proximity switch “sensor” to signal when the lever has been lifted and/or lowered.
PUMP HANDLE SWITCH OPERATION (P/N 12270S)
When the lever is lifted and the nozzle removed, the spring-loaded lever swings down in order to close the proximity switch and to send a
signal the Lower I/O Board indicating that the lever has been lifted. When the Lower I/O Board receives the signal that the handle has
been raised, a signal is sent to the 719 CPU Board. The 719 CPU board identifies which product handle is on (A or B) and sends the
appropriate +12 volt dc signal to the appropriate relay to turn on the appropriate motor. It also causes the CPU to send the proper price
display to the correct price window on the display board.
When the lever is lowered, the spring-loaded lever swings up in order to open the proximity switch and to send a signal the Lower I/O
Board indicating that the lever has been lowered. This signals that the sale is complete and the 719 CPU board sends this information to
the Point-of-Sale (if applicable) so the sale may be collected. The valve should close immediately (less than 1/2 second) after the handle is
hung up. The sale cannot be collected unless the handle switch is off.
