Headlight beam throw and
spring preload
Headlight beam throw is gener-
ally kept constant when spring
preload is adjusted to suit load.
If there are doubts about
the correct headlight beam
throw, have the setting checked
by a specialist workshop,
preferably an authorised
BMW Motorrad dealer.
Front and rear seats
Removing rear seat cover
Make sure the ground is level
and firm and place the motor-
cycle on its stand.
Open lock 1 in the rear seat
cover with the ignition key.
Lift the cover at the rear and
then work it back and up to
remove.
Installing rear seat cover
Engage the rear seat cover in
mounts 2 on left and right.
Swing the rear seat cover
down, pushing it lightly forward.
