4.3.3 Analog Input Module, 16 Inputs
Function The function of the analog input module is to detect voltages and cur
rents and to measure temperatures by means of RTDs.
Analog input has its own control logic and performs data acquisition in a
cycle which is independent of the controller. The digitized data are stored
in a special memory from where they can be retrieved by the controller at
any time.
The analog input module is operated in the extended inputs/outputs (IO/
EO). It occupies one input and output word in the extended inputs/out
puts.
A detailed description of the analog input module is given in Technical
Description" P. − N o . 3779.
