8.2.2 Verify the control of individual actuators
1. Turn on the Multi Driver, start the DMShapes application,
and load the Profile for the Multi Driver and the DM.
2. Set all of the actuators to the top limit of their motion by doing one of the following:
• On the toolbar click the Zero button.
• Move the Piston to 0.
The actuators in the display will all turn blue.
The actuators on the DM will all go to the top of their motion
and the mirror will return to an un-deflected state.
3. On the toolbar click the Play button.
Starting with Actuator 0, each actuator will move to the 0.8 position,
then move back to the 0 position. This will continue with the next actuator
until all have been moved.
4. As this process takes place, visually verify each actuator moves down
and then returns to an un-deflected state and that no other actuators are moving.
This will appear to be a single actuator-sized depression that moves
through the mirror. Refer to the Actuator Map in Section 10.4.
System verification is now complete and you can begin to align the DM.
